Hospital Policies

Appointment Policy

We ask you to call ahead to schedule your pet’s appointment. In the case of emergency we will see a pet as a “walk in” or emergent appointment, and make every effort to limit any wait for our regularly scheduled appointments. If you cannot make your pet’s appointment we ask that you call to cancel 24 hours in advance.

Patient Arrival Policy

All dogs must be on a leash and properly controlled while visiting Acton Animal Hospital, in the lobby and exam rooms. All cats must be presented in an appropriate cat carrier or on a leash.

Drop off Policy

For your convenience you may be offered a drop off appointment, where you can drop your pet off and pick it up later in the day. This allows our doctors to examine your pet and perform any treatments needed when we might not have any regular appointment openings. This is only an option if both you and the doctor agree it would be in your pet’s best interest.

Vaccination Policy

For your pet’s safety and that of the other pets in our care we require that any hospitalized pet is up to date on their regular vaccinations. Massachusetts State law requires us to update the Rabies vaccination on any pet in our hospital that is not up to date on their vaccine.

Payment Policy

Payment is required  at the time that services are rendered. For your convenience, we accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, Apple Pay, cash and personal checks.
