We perform most common soft tissue surgeries in our hospital and have a traveling board-certified orthopedic specialist available for our patients as well. We perform spay/neuter procedures, mass removals, and cystotomy procedures, as well as other routine surgeries.

Our surgical suite is equipped with the most modern anesthesia machines and monitoring available, and our anesthesia protocols utilize the safest medications we have available. We have a dental surgical suite as well, and perform routine dental surgeries, extractions, and mass removals.

Acton Animal Hospital has Certified Veterinary Technicians specialized in anesthesia and surgical care to assist in the procedure, and also to help ensure your pet’s safe recovery afterward. We routinely monitor your pet’s blood pressure, ECG, O2 saturation, breathing, and body temperature during surgical procedures.

Feel free to call us with any questions, or to schedule your pet’s surgery.

Medical and Wellness Care

How often should my pet see the vet?

Acton Animal Hospital offers comprehensive physical exams with our medical team to evaluate your pet’s general health and catch any potential problems early. We recommend yearly physical examinations for most pets, and twice yearly visits for our senior pets. More frequent examinations for senior pets are needed because animals age much faster than we do, so disease and illness progress much faster as well. Twice yearly examinations are similar to us visiting our physician every three years or so, and early detection of medical problems allows us to treat your pet more effectively.

These regular exams are also a good time to address any concerns about your pet’s health and behavior with your vet, as our medical team can offer experienced nutritional and behavioral counseling for your pet.
