What To Expect

Exceptional care and warm, friendly service for you and your pet!

Check in – When you first enter the hospital we ask that you check in with our receptionists. If you’re a new client or bringing in a new pet, please plan to arrive a few minutes prior to your appointment time with any records you have for your pet. This allows us to review the information with you and get started on your pet’s record with us.

Technician exam – After being shown to your exam room, one of our trained technicians will do an exam including taking your pet’s temperature, pulse and respiration rate. They will also discuss the reason for your visit, any preventative health care that’s due, and relay any of your concerns to the doctor. Our technicians are happy to trim your pet’s nails or clean their ears. Just ask our scheduling team – they will confirm pricing and add on these services to your visit!

Doctor exam – The doctor will do a comprehensive, nose-to-tail physical exam. He or she will discuss your pet’s health, any abnormal physical exam findings, and any vaccinations or other routine care for which your pet may be due. If your pet needs any testing or blood work, the doctor will work with you to develop a treatment plan individualized for your pet.

In some cases, the doctor may suggest bringing your pet into the treatment room to collect blood or urine samples. At the end of the appointment, the doctor will make sure to let you know when your pet will be due for a recheck and discuss any additional follow-up needed.

Medications and home care – At the end of your appointment the technician will prepare any medications that you may need and then go over the directions with you. They may also demonstrate various home techniques such as tooth brushing or ear cleaning, and provide you with resources such as printed materials or online referral information.

Once all of your questions have been answered you will be shown to the front desk to check out and schedule any follow-up appointments.
Our receptionist will also call you the day after your appointment to check in with you and your pet. If you have any concerns at that time they will make sure one of our trained medical staff contacts you to answer any questions you might have.

Please don’t hesitate to let us know if we can do anything to make you or your pet more comfortable!
