Acton Animal Hospital is proud to offer the highest quality medical and surgical treatment options at our hospital.
We offer comprehensive physical exams with our medical team, with evaluations of your pet’s general health.
We recommend yearly physical examinations, and twice yearly for our senior pets. Twice yearly examinations are similar to us visiting our physician every three years or so.
Early detection of medical problems allows us to treat your pet more effectively. Nutritional and behavioral counseling for your pet is also available from our hospital team.
We perform most routine soft tissue surgeries in our hospital, and have a travelling board certified orthopedic specialist available for our patients as well.
Our surgical suite is equipped with the most modern anesthesia machines and monitoring available, and our anesthesia protocols utilize the safest medications we have available.
We routinely monitor your pet’s blood pressure, ECG, O2 saturation, breathing, and body temperature during surgical procedures.
We have an in house laboratory that allows us to perform routine complete blood counts, blood chemistry, urinalysis, needle aspirate, and fecal testing while you wait. We also use a commercial veterinary testing laboratory for specialized testing and diagnostics.
Acton Animal Hospital is proud to offer digital radiographs, which use less radiation and also eliminate the harmful chemicals needed for x-ray processing of regular radiographs. We also are able to send out our x-rays for specialist review, or email them to a referral hospital if needed.
In the event your pet needs an echocardiogram or abdominal ultrasound we have travelling board certified specialists available to perform those procedures right here in our hospital.
We offer dentistry services including full cleanings under anesthesia and digital dental radiography. Radiographs are used to evaluate any damage to your pet’s teeth we cannot see, and to determine any need for dental extractions.
We can perform ultrasonic cleaning, polishing, fluoride treatments, tooth extractions, and minor oral surgery. In the event your pet needs more intensive dental care we are lucky to have Dr. Shope and Veterinary Dental Services right down the road!
We maintain a complete inventory of pharmaceuticals, vitamins, shampoos, flea and tick control products and heartworm preventatives to meet the needs of your pet. We also carry a full line of prescription diets available in our hospital or from our online pharmacy.
