Dr. Betty Johnston
Veterinarian
Betty Johnston, V.M.D., joined the staff of Acton Animal Hospital in 2005. Dr. Johnston has practiced veterinary medicine for over 30 years, 15 years of which were devoted to the mixed practice of treating large and small animals, and the last 16 years working with small animals exclusively.
She holds a B.S. degree and earned her V.M.D. degree from the University of Pennsylvania. She is a member of the MVMA, the AVMA, and the AAHA.
Dr. Johnston takes a special interest in dog training and participates in obedience, field, rally, and agility competitions with her two dogs, Cooper and Gable. The part of veterinary medicine that Dr. Johnston enjoys most is working with owners to get their puppies off to a healthy, happy start with proper medical care and training.
Dr. Shauna McLeod
Veterinarian
Dr. Shauna McLeod is very excited to join the Acton Animal Hospital community. She studied at the University of New Hampshire before earning her DVM at the Atlantic Veterinary College in 2016.
Since then, she has been working as a small animal general practitioner and is interested in ophthalmology. She finds joy in her work by getting to know the pets and their owners to provide the optimal care and treatment options.
She recently returned to New England where she spent her childhood caring for sled dogs and horses. Aside from work, she dotes on her Pitbull, Alice, who accompanies her on their many outdoor adventures.

Brianna Beauchene
Veterinary Receptionist
Brianna grew up in Worcester and always loved animals. Her parents gave her a kitten when she was five years old, and she knew then she wanted to care for animals. This love led her to a job at a dog day care center followed by a position at a veterinary clinic before joining our team. She shares her home with three cats, siblings Salem and Hazel as well as Cheeto, an orange tabby rescue. Brianna enjoys spending her free time with her boyfriend, watching TV, or playing with her cats.
