CareCredit for Veterinary Expenses

CareCredit is a health and wellness credit card that can be used for eligible veterinary expenses. It provides qualified applicants with financing options that allow veterinary costs to be paid over time rather than all at once.

Pet owners may use CareCredit for many types of veterinary care, including routine visits, diagnostic testing, dental care, surgery, treatment for illnesses and injuries, and other eligible services.

Approval is subject to CareCredit’s terms and credit requirements. Depending on the purchase amount and available promotion, financing options may also be available for qualifying transactions.

You can learn more, check whether you prequalify, and review current financing terms directly through CareCredit.

The Value of Pet Insurance

Pet insurance can help offset eligible veterinary expenses when your pet needs preventive care, treatment for an illness or injury, diagnostic testing, surgery, or ongoing medical care, depending on the coverage you choose.

Acton Animal Hospital works with major pet insurance providers. In most cases, pet insurance operates differently from human health insurance: you pay your veterinary bill at the time of service and then submit a claim to your insurance company for reimbursement.

Coverage varies considerably between insurance companies and individual policies. Your deductible, reimbursement percentage, annual limit, waiting periods, exclusions, and covered services will depend on the plan you select.

Before Your Pet’s Appointment

If you have pet insurance, it can help to:

  • Review your policy before your visit.
  • Ask your insurer whether the anticipated service is covered.
  • Find out whether preauthorization is required.
  • Confirm your deductible and reimbursement percentage.
  • Bring any claim information your insurance company requires.

Our team can provide medical records, invoices, and other relevant documentation when needed for your claim. However, your insurance provider determines whether a service qualifies for reimbursement and how much your policy will cover.

Appointment Cancellation & Late Arrival Policy

We reserve dedicated appointment time for each patient so our veterinary team can provide appropriate attention and keep the day running smoothly for everyone.

If you arrive more than 15 minutes after your scheduled appointment time, we may need to reschedule your visit.

Clients with more than three no-call/no-show appointments will be scheduled for the next available future appointment and will no longer be eligible for same-day or last-minute appointments.

Thank you for helping us stay on schedule and provide attentive care to every patient we see.
