Dr. Johnston takes a special interest in dog training and participates in obedience, field, rally, and agility competitions with her two dogs, Cooper and Gable. Dr. Shauna McLeod

Dr. Shauna McLeod is very excited to join the Acton Animal Hospital community. She studied at the University of New Hampshire before earning her DVM at the Atlantic Veterinary College in 2016.

Since then, she has been working as a small animal general practitioner and is interested in ophthalmology. She finds joy in her work by getting to know the pets and their owners to provide the optimal care and treatment options.

She recently returned to New England where she spent her childhood caring for sled dogs and horses. Aside from work, she dotes on her Pitbull, Alice, who accompanies her on their many outdoor adventures.

Courtney Polo

Her entire life she grew up caring for her pets and giving them the extra love and care they deserve. As she got older, she knew that it was her calling to continue caring for animals and build a career in the veterinary medicine field.

Courtney obtained an associate’s degree in veterinary technology from Becker College in 2011. She has continued her education and is enrolled in the pre-veterinary concentration at Becker College and hopes to achieve her bachelor’s degree soon.

While working full-time and raising her son, she also is taking courses to succeed in becoming a veterinary practice manager. Courtney‘s main interests in the veterinary medicine field are surgery and anesthesia as well as client education. On her time away from work she loves to spend quality time with her son and caring for her first child…her cat, Kahli.
